| RELEASE DATE: 05/01/2007 |
PAGE, AZ – May XX, 2007 -- Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas will be hosting its third annual Fourth of July All American Sustainable Barbecue on Wednesday, July 4, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the upper area of the Wahweap campground group site. The annual event, designed to recognize and celebrate America’s love of barbecue, showcases ARAMARK’s unique culinary approach to sustainable cuisine. “This event is just one of the ways we continue to support our guests’ appreciation and requests for local, organic and sustainable foods, and is a fun way to demonstrate our commitment to the environment and healthy living through our sustainable cuisine initiatives,” said, Cathy McKeever, director of sales and marketing, Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas. A culinary team led by Executive Chef Brandon Shubert will prepare a traditional style barbecue featuring a menu selected from premium, quality sustainable food items including assorted salsas and fresh corn chips; farm raised striped bass with cilantro lime vinaigrette; house smoked Hearst Ranch grass-fed beef brisket served with a traditional homemade barbeque sauce, grilled onions and seasonal organic vegetables; grilled pineapple with pine nut crisps for dessert. Sustainable cuisine is often described as being comprised of fresh and chemical free ingredients that recognize and address the impact of food on a person’s health and environment through the harvesting process, as well as meeting the challenges of feeding a growing population. Tickets for the barbecue are $23.95 plus tax for adults and $12.95 plus tax for children ages 5 to 12. Children 4 and under are free. Tickets may be purchased at the Lake Powell Resort’s Rainbow Room and front desk or by calling (888) 486-4665.
