(Lake Powell) Page, Ariz. – Jan. 08, 2009 – Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas, managed by ARAMARK Parks and Destinations, will temporarily shut down lodging and other select services and operations while major renovations are underway this winter. Limited Rainbow Bridge tours will be conducted. The Campground Store will remain open, and houseboating and powerboat rentals will still be available for visitors who would like to experience America’s favorite houseboating destination.
The redesign, scheduled to be complete March 12, 2009, will combine the lobby reception desk and the boat tours desk to provide you with a single location for all your Lake Powell vacation planning needs. The retail store will also feature new interactivity and cultural interpretations. Details and dates of operations are listed below.
Wahweap Marina • Lake Powell Resort, including the gift shop, the Rainbow Room Restaurant, Driftwood Lounge and Java City will close January 8 through March 12, 2009. • Wahweap Marina boat rentals, dry storage area, fuel dock, Sinclair Station, Marina Store, Marina operations and the Campground Store will remain open through the construction. • Boat tours will operate from the Campground Store – Rainbow Bridge boat tours will be available only on Saturdays, while other tours are available with a 15-person minimum. • The boat shop will operate Tuesdays through Fridays, with mechanic services available “on-call” from Saturday to Monday.
Hite Marina • Hite Marina family units and the Hite Marina store will be closed between January 8 and May 1, 2009. On-call service will be available during those weekends, Friday through Sunday. • The Hite Marina pay-at-pump fuel area at Hite Village will remain open.
Halls Crossing Marina • Halls Crossing campground/RV park, Halls Crossing family units will remain open. • Halls Crossing Marina City Center will be open during weekends but will be on an “on-call” basis on weekdays for essential groceries and supplies through May 14, 2009. • The Marina Store will be closed with an “on-call” status until May 14, 2009, but will be open on weekends beginning April 2. • The fuel dock will be closed and re-open on weekends beginning April 2 through May 14, 2009, but available “on-call” on weekdays.
Bullfrog Marina • Defiance House Lodge, Anasazi Restaurant, gift shop, fuel dock and Boat N Go store will be closed January 2 through April 2, 2009. • The service station, family lodging units, fuel dock, boat rentals and the campground at Bullfrog Marina will stay open. • The selection of grocery items at the Sinclair Station will be expanded until Boat N Go re-opens on April 2, 2009.
Dangling Rope • Dangling Rope will open on March 1, 2009
